1. Product Overview
Guaranteed Stop-Loss is a paid enhancement for contract stop-loss orders. Once enabled, when the latest traded price reaches or crosses the stop-loss trigger price you set, the system calculates the P&L of the closing transaction based on your specified stop-loss trigger price.
The Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is charged only when the order is triggered. The starting fee rate is 0.40%.
2. Key Features
- P&L Calculated Based on the Trigger Price: Once the order is triggered, the system calculates the P&L of the closing transaction based on the specified stop-loss trigger price.
- Locked Fee Rate: The fee rate is locked once the order is successfully placed and remains unchanged throughout the order's lifetime, regardless of market fluctuations.
- Simple On/Off Toggle: No tiers or complex settings. Simply choose whether to enable or disable the feature.
3. Applicable Scope
- Contract Type: USDT-margined perpetual contracts.
- Order Type: Market Guaranteed Stop-Loss orders.
- Direction: Stop-loss orders only.
- Supported Trading Pairs: A trading pair is supported if the Guaranteed Stop-Loss toggle is displayed on its trading page. The list of supported trading pairs may change.
4. How to Enable Guaranteed Stop-Loss
- Enter the stop-loss trigger price in the contract order panel.
- Enable the Guaranteed Stop-Loss toggle. The toggle is disabled by default and must be enabled manually for each order.
- Submit the order. The Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is charged only when the order is triggered.
The toggle is available only when all the following conditions are met:
- A stop-loss trigger price has been entered.
- The trigger price meets the directional requirements:
- Long position: The stop-loss trigger price must be below both the average entry price and the latest traded price.
- Short position: The stop-loss trigger price must be above both the average entry price and the latest traded price.
- The contract is included in the list of supported contracts.
If any of these conditions is not met, the toggle will be grayed out.
5. Fee Details
5.1 Fee Rate
The starting fee rate is 0.40%, which is the minimum rate charged. The actual fee rate may exceed 0.40% and is calculated based on several factors, including the distance between the current price and the stop-loss trigger price, individual order size, market volatility, and event-related factors.
The fee rate may increase during periods of low liquidity, such as weekends, or during macroeconomic events or platform-related events. Under extreme market conditions, the fee rate may be significantly higher than 0.40%. The actual fee rate is determined by the system's calculation.
5.2 Fee Calculation Basis
Actual executed quantity × stop-loss trigger price.
5.3 Fee Charging Time
The Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is settled together with the P&L of the closing transaction in the same settlement process. It is not deducted at a later time.
5.4 Fee Collection
The fee is charged only when the order is triggered. If the order is not triggered, no Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee record is generated.
Guaranteed Stop-Loss fees are calculated, displayed, and recorded separately from contract trading fees.
5.5 Locked Fee Rate
When an order is successfully placed, the system calculates and locks the fee rate for that order. The locked rate remains unchanged until the order is terminated, regardless of subsequent market fluctuations or adjustments to platform parameters.
If you need to change the stop-loss trigger price or order quantity, cancel the original order and place a new one. The new order will be charged at the fee rate applicable when it is placed.
5.6 Examples
The fee calculation formula is:
Guaranteed Stop-Loss Fee = Actual Executed Quantity × Stop-Loss Trigger Price × Locked Fee Rate
For example, if the fee calculation basis is 10,000 USDT:
- At a locked fee rate of 0.40%, the Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is 40 USDT.
- At a locked fee rate of 0.80%, the Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is 80 USDT.
6. Trigger Rules
- The order is triggered when the latest traded price reaches or crosses the specified stop-loss trigger price.
- Once triggered, the order is terminated and cannot be triggered again.
7. Settlement Rules
- Once the order is triggered, the system calculates the P&L of the closing transaction based on the specified stop-loss trigger price.
- The P&L of the closing transaction is calculated based on the difference between the stop-loss trigger price and the average entry price.
- The Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is calculated using the following formula:
Actual Executed Quantity × Stop-Loss Trigger Price × Locked Fee Rate
8. Order Modification and Cancellation
- Once a Guaranteed Stop-Loss order has been placed, its stop-loss trigger price and order quantity cannot be modified. The Guaranteed Stop-Loss feature also cannot be disabled separately for that order.
- To make adjustments, cancel the original order and place a new one. The new order will be charged at the fee rate applicable when it is placed.
- An order can only be canceled before it is triggered. Once canceled, the Guaranteed Stop-Loss order is terminated.
9. Situations in Which No Fee Is Charged
No Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is charged in the following situations:
- The order is canceled before being triggered.
- The user manually closes the position.
- The position is fully closed or its direction is reversed, causing the original order to become invalid automatically.
- The position is forcibly liquidated.
- The position is selected for Auto-Deleveraging (ADL).
10. Frequently Asked Questions
(1) What is the difference between Guaranteed Stop-Loss and a regular stop-loss?
A regular stop-loss order is executed at the market price once triggered, so the actual execution price may differ from the stop-loss trigger price. With Guaranteed Stop-Loss, the system calculates the P&L of the closing transaction based on the specified stop-loss trigger price, and a Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is charged.
(2) Guaranteed Stop-Loss is a market order. Why is P&L calculated based on the stop-loss trigger price?
Guaranteed Stop-Loss is a paid enhancement provided by the platform. Once the order is triggered, the platform calculates the P&L of the closing transaction based on the specified stop-loss trigger price rather than the market execution price.
(3) Do I have to pay if the order is never triggered?
No. The Guaranteed Stop-Loss fee is charged only when the order is triggered.
(4) Why is the fee rate higher than 0.40%?
The 0.40% rate is the starting fee rate. The actual rate is calculated based on factors including the distance between the current price and the stop-loss trigger price, individual order size, market volatility, and event-related factors. It may exceed 0.40%. The actual rate is determined by the system.
(5) Will the fee rate change with the market after I place an order?
No. The fee rate is locked once the order is successfully placed and remains unchanged throughout the order's lifetime.
(6) Why is the Guaranteed Stop-Loss toggle grayed out?
The stop-loss trigger price may not have been entered, the trigger price may not meet the directional requirements, or the contract may not be included in the list of supported contracts.
(7) Can I modify or cancel a Guaranteed Stop-Loss order?
The order cannot be modified, and the Guaranteed Stop-Loss feature cannot be disabled separately. Before the order is triggered, you can cancel it and place a new one with the desired settings.
(8) Which contracts are supported?
Guaranteed Stop-Loss currently supports only USDT-margined perpetual contracts. Supported trading pairs are indicated by the presence of the Guaranteed Stop-Loss toggle on the relevant trading page.
(9) How is P&L calculated if the market price gaps when the order is triggered?
Once the order is triggered, the system calculates the P&L of the closing transaction based on the specified stop-loss trigger price, regardless of the market price after the gap.
